Should I carry on Marketing?

Should I carry on with marketing?

At this uncertain time it’s a good time to think outside the box for all your upcoming marketing requirements.

Like you all, at Red3D we have been closely monitoring the evolving pandemic, as we socially distance and work from home in the hope of flattening the curve. However in many ways here at Red3D it is business as usual as much of our service is already online, we are just carrying on from home.

Our working from home situation is quite the ‘norm’ for us but for many of you will be dealing with the sudden transition from working in a completely different way to suddenly having to set up a desk in your spare room or the corner in your kitchen, it can be difficult to adjust. Whilst so many things are out of control, Red3D aim to help you and offer any advice you may need in terms of carrying on with your marketing in these uncertain times.

As the spread of the covid-19 gets worse many businesses are wondering do I carry on marketing my company? What do I need to do differently at this very different time. The main thing to remember is that this Covid -19 is not the time to try and make money out of a bad situation.
Chances are most people are going to be swamped by emails and messages and images to do with the virus, our job is to understand and think ahead about what our potential customers or subscribers need from us. In any marketing you do during this time always have in mind – does this crisis directly affect how the client is going use the product or service you are promoting?

The new normal is here

For us, the work we have been asked to do has already changed – just in the past few weeks since this crisis started.
We have been asked to create websites with video content and video subscriptions, to enable what is usually hands on training to be done in a virtual online platform.
Also we have been approached for several website refresh projects – as for most businesses when they are busy they are customer focused with little time for their own brand and keeping their look cohesive.

This is the time to take stock of all of your own marketing activities and tools and see how you can improve on them ready for when we are all back and raring to go!

Remember your customers are not gone they are just at home – and it is good to sometimes check in with them even if their projects are on hold.
It is important to keep communicating and keep your business or brand in the forefront of peoples minds even if your product or service is not a priority at this time..it is important to understand that, and therefore tailor your marketing because people have altogether different priorities during a crisis. They may not need your product/service right at this very moment in time but they may in the future.

The situation is always changing due to government ruling and we must always bear this in mind and keep our clients updated if relevant to the service you are offering.

So to sum up, think outside the box, take stock, plan ahead – and above all stay safe!
